You got your meth test results back—now what?! Don’t worry, we’re here to translate the science-y stuff into plain English. We’re breaking down ALS test results—because they process more meth tests than any other lab in the U.S.
The top of the page should have the header: “Analytical Report” & general contact Information for whoever filled out the sample paperwork. The numbers listed on a table in the middle of the page are the key: 1st on the left is your total # of meth, the 2nd middle number is the divided legal # and the last on the right is the lab # (the lowest amount of meth the lab used to process the sample).
Now for the Big Question: What Does It Mean?! If the legal (middle) number is OVER 1.0? Your property is considered contaminated and requires decontamination. If the legal number is AT or BELOW 1.0? You’re in the clear, based on Utah’s state standard and do NOT require decontamination. Check out more details on this question via our social media or give us a call and we would be happy to walk you through the test results.
It depends on the test result levels and your specific needs, but generally, it takes about 2 weeks from start to finish.
First, we start by submitting a work plan to the health department for a permit. The health department typically take 2-3 business days to issue the permit from the day we submit. Once we enter the home, it takes about 1 week to complete the decontamination itself and do clearance testing. After we get those test results back, we will send you and the health department a final report. The health department takes an additional 2-3 business days to release the property.
Yes! There are steps to this process and it all depends on what you want to complete yourself.
Once a home is deemed contaminated, the items in the home (includes carpet and padding) need to be disposed of as special waste to the dump. Any non-porous items do have the option to be decontaminated. We offer both services, if you would like us to dispose of the items (including carpet and padding) we charge an additional price based on trailer load. We can also decontaminate non porous items for $150- $300 per item. After the items are out of the home, that's when we decontaminate all ceilings, walls, floors, closets, drawers, etc.
